Mentorship

Overview

Beyond The Crown is the Kaua‘i Filipino Community Council’s mentorship program designed to guide and empower middle school, junior high, and pageant participants through hands-on experiences in leadership and life skills. We want our next generation to know what it means to lead with purpose, to serve with pride, and to stand tall in the heart of any production—big or small.

Program Pillars

  • Leadership & Public Speaking — Confidence, stage presence, and real-world communication.
  • Education & Career — Scholarship pathways, internships, and early-career planning.
  • Culture & Community — Cultural identity, service projects, and stewardship across Kaua‘i.
  • Wellbeing & Professionalism — Wellness, time management, and standards of excellence.

How the Program Works

  • Personalized Match — Pairing based on goals (education, career, culture, service).
  • Monthly Touchpoints — 1:1 or small-group sessions (in person or virtual).
  • Skill Labs — Media readiness, interviewing, project leadership, financial literacy.
  • Community Project — Lead or support a service initiative with KFCC or affiliates.
  • Showcase & Recognition — Year-end milestones and acknowledgments.

Eligibility

  • Open to Miss Kaua‘i Filipina contestants and alumnae.
  • Student leaders (middle school through college) recommended by KFCC affiliates.
  • Commit to monthly engagement for at least six months.

Mentors & Partner Network

  • Leaders from KFCC Affiliated Organizations; past queens; advisors from education, business, health, culture, and media.
